FORGIVING PT. 2

healing of paralyzed man photo: CHRIST HEALING healing-card1.jpg

This is a reminder that Jesus has always had the power to forgive human beings for sins.  He has always know the hearts of people.  Often you hear others say of these verse, "I wonder what his sin was?"

When I was a young believer I use to think the same thing.  Now that I have been a Christian for many years I realize that the man was a sinner from the moment he was born.  Jesus knew his heart.  Jesus was healing this man in more ways than one.  He healed the outside and inside and had the power to do so.

A person that condemns another does not know the reality of their own sins.  Yes, I mean sinS.  Until we realize our own sinS we have no compassion when another sins. We are quick to judge and condemn. We believe, we would not do what they did.  But we definitely sin in other areas, but do not call it sin.

The Bible is very good at defining sin.  All we have to do is read it.  Someplace you will find your sins defined.  It is much easier to wonder and judge what someone else has done than ourselves.

Jesus is making a point that He has the power to forgive you.  If you are a believer and you humble yourself before Him, He will show you and forgive.  If you do not, He must humble you so you see those sinS.

Mat 9:1  And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
Mat 9:2  And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
Mat 9:3  And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
Mat 9:4  And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
Mat 9:5  For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
Mat 9:6  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
Mat 9:7  And he arose, and departed to his house.
